About Dr. Alex Chevalier

Dr. Alex Chevalier is a LaSalle native who, after graduating with honors from French immersion at Sandwich Secondary School, pursued a Biochemistry degree at the University of Windsor, where he graduated with distinction. His journey toward a career in dentistry began during his undergraduate years when he shadowed dentists, developing a deep appreciation for the patient-dentist relationships that drive his passion for general dentistry.

Continuing his education, Alex attended the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry and was recognized for his outstanding undergraduate work with the Dental Merit scholarship. His involvement at the dental school included active participation in the American Student Dental Association pre-dental committee and holding the position of Canadian Students Association president in his fourth year. Alex’s commitment to community dentistry extended to oral cancer screenings for Detroit Men’s Health day, outreach programs in metro-Detroit clinics, and volunteering for a dental mission trip, providing oral surgery and restorative treatments in Chichicastenango, Guatemala. His academic excellence led to induction into Omicron Kappa Upsilon (top 10% of his class), and he also received the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry award on his journey to earning a Doctorate of Dental Surgery.

Beyond his dental career, Alex’s passion for fitness and athletics, cultivated during his upbringing in LaSalle, is evident in his love for hockey, soccer, golf, and volleyball. He enjoys quality time with friends and family, cooking, and staying active.
